About Me
Hello, and welcome to my portfolio. My name is Tim Gamble, and I am a secondary English teacher from Eagle Mountain, Utah. I hold a B.A. in English from Boise State University and will complete my Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary English) through Western Governors University in September 2026. I am currently completing my student teaching at Westlake High School.
For the past eighteen years, I have worked as a technical writer in the semiconductor industry. This experience has provided many opportunities to collaborate with engineering teams to create high-quality documentation and training materials, manage sitewide communications, conduct user analysis surveys, and serve as a subject-matter expert on several documentation control processes. This background informs my approach to teaching writing as a purposeful and structured process.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar, drawing and painting, and building leather wallets, belts, and other small leather goods. I also enjoy writing poetry and am currently working on a poetry collection for self-publication.
I have always wanted to be an educator. In 2024, my career took an unexpected turn when I lost my job due to corporate restructuring. As a result, I applied for a substitute teaching position. After just one month in the classroom, I realized how much I enjoy teaching and working with students to help them pursue their educational goals. This experience ultimately led me to Western Governors University, where I have been enrolled as a full-time student since June 2025.
I wholeheartedly believe literacy has the power to transform how students think, communicate, and understand the world around them. In my classroom, I strive to create an environment where students feel encouraged to explore ideas, engage with literature, and develop confidence in their writing and analytical abilities.
This portfolio highlights my teaching philosophy, instructional materials, evaluations, and professional credentials. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my work as an educator.
