Behavior Management Philosophy

I approach student behavior management as an opportunity to teach responsibility, accountability, and respect within a supportive classroom environment. I take responsibility for managing student behavior within my classroom and use administrative support for serious issues or when student safety is at risk.

Restorative Practices

When students are disruptive or disrespectful, I believe it is important to provide opportunities for restorative practices that promote reflection, repair harm, and rebuild relationships.

What this Looks Like in My Classroom

In practice, this looks like:

  • Facilitating conversations that promote student reflection
  • Using restorative questions to address conflict
  • Providing opportunities for students to repair harm
  • Reinforcing expectations through consistent routines
  • Modeling respectful communication and behavior

This approach promotes accountability, strengthens relationships, and supports a positive, student-centered learning environment.
