Student Feedback Survey Overview
To evaluate my effectiveness as a teacher, I distributed a Student Feedback Form to all of my English 11 students at the end of my student teaching assignment. The data collected provided valuable insight into key components of my teaching practice, including instructional clarity, student engagement, and classroom environment. I used this feedback to reflect on my practice and identify areas for targeted instructional improvement.
Overall, students reported a strong classroom environment and support, with engagement identified as the primary area for growth.
Key Findings from Student Feedback
Survey results indicate strong performance in classroom environment (4.67) and student support (4.47), while student engagement (3.65) emerged as the primary area for growth.
Student Voice (Qualitative Feedback)
Student feedback consistently highlighted a supportive learning environment and clear instruction, while also identifying opportunities to increase engagement.
- "He takes time with every student."
- "It's a fun and inviting environment."
- "Sometimes the class feels less engaging."
- "He's very kind and welcoming when you come into class and also checks up on those who he thinks could need some help."
Instructional Reflection and Action Plan
Based on student feedback, I have incorporated interactive strategies such as think-pair-share, structured activities, and clearer lesson framing to increase student engagement. These areas for growth were also identified in my midterm student teaching evaluation, reinforcing the need for intentional instructional adjustments. I am becoming increasingly confident in implementing these strategies to support student learning.
This process reflects my commitment to using student feedback as a formative tool to continuously improve instructional effectiveness.
